Sudbury 250 Committee locks in May 16 schedule, adds cemetery musket salute
250 Committee · Meeting of April 15, 2026
Sudbury 250 Committee finalizes May 16 run-of-show and adds musket volleys at cemetery kiosk unveiling. Meeting virtually one month before the town's signature 250th anniversary event, the committee approved roughly $1,200 for flyers, banners and yard signs, and slotted an 11:15 a.m. militia salute at the Revolutionary War Cemetery's new kiosk, with the site closed for about 10 minutes. Speaker Willow Green's honorarium was reduced after her role was cut to a single morning slot, and the Plymouth Patuxet program came in at $863, below the earlier estimate.
Chair Radha Gargeya said a proposed Sudbury Wine and Spirits tasting series, with $25 to $50 tickets and proceeds to the town, will go to town counsel first because "any time you involve alcohol" liability is a concern. Only one driver has been confirmed for two accessible community-center buses seating 10 each.
