Sudbury 250 Committee finalizes logistics for May 16 townwide celebration

250 Committee · Meeting of April 29, 2026

Sudbury 250 Committee finalizes logistics for townwide May 16 celebration. The committee approved a reorder of 72 commemorative beer steins, priced at roughly $10 to $12 wholesale and selling for $20, after the original run sold out, including 12 taken by Joe Sayer. Staff coordinator James reported 29 craft vendors, 10 town committees and two food vendors are confirmed, with a third food vendor being sought after a permit denial.

Roughly 17 volunteers have committed; James said "another 15 to 20 volunteers would be perfect" but the event can run with five more. Vendors arrive in two waves between 8:15 and 9:45 a.m., with a Concord Road gate closing at 9:30. The committee has about $15,000 remaining in its budget after $300 honoraria for a town crier and the Red Horse Old Time Duo.
