Select Board Orders Euthanasia For 2 Dangerous Dogs
Select Board · Meeting of September 28, 2026
Holliston Select Board orders euthanasia of two dangerous dogs after years of neighborhood complaints. Chair Benjamin Sparrell, Vice Chair Damon Dimmick and Clerk Tina Hein voted unanimously to declare pit bull Bella and terrier Susie Q dangerous following testimony from eight residents of Tracy Lynn and Bradford J roads describing at least five unprovoked attacks since 2022. Dimmick called his vote to euthanize "wholeheartedly, unfortunately" necessary given the owner's unrepaired fence and a 2017 case that ended in a prior dog's euthanasia; the owner never appeared to respond.
The same meeting, the board approved a five-year Verizon cable license renewal holding the franchise fee at 5 percent of gross revenue, and Town Manager Frank Gervasio reported the town's capital expenditure fund is roughly $600,000 short of its required balance after a bookkeeping error, down from an initial $800,000 estimate. The dog owner has 10 days to appeal to Framingham District Court.
