Rising Fuel Costs Reshape Operations At Verrill Farm, Patch Reports

Rising fuel costs are reshaping operations at Concord's Verrill Farm, according to Concord Patch, as the town heads into the final stretch before the Aug. 31 start of school.

The Concord Health Department is teaming up with the Great Meadows Public Health Collaborative for an interactive talk on tick and mosquito safety, featuring live insects and expert guidance, according to a new Town Hall announcement. The town continued to flag its FY26 Grants Dashboard and its Aug. 24-28 roadwork schedule on Maple Street, Old Bedford Road, Bedford Street and Lowell Road, both stories the News Flash has covered in prior days.

SCHOOLS

The Concord-Carlisle Regional School Committee will hold a joint meeting Wednesday, Aug. 26, from 6 to 9 p.m., according to the district calendar. The session comes as the district finalizes preparations for two professional development days Aug. 27-28 and the Aug. 31 first day of school.
