Planning Board Votes to Continue Regis Housing Hearing
Planning Board · Meeting of September 16, 2026
Weston Planning Board presses HYM on height and affordability for Regis senior housing. The board voted unanimously Wednesday to continue its hearing on a 215-unit, age-restricted development at Regis College's 300 Wellesley Street to October 7, after questioning developer HYM and co-developer Nextcorp on a proposed 59-foot building height, a 267-space parking plan and a 10 percent on-site affordable-housing baseline. Abutter Chris Cavanaugh of Colonial Way warned the project's two main buildings, totaling 260,000 square feet, "will tower above my home, my neighbor's home, and ... over Wellesley Street." Regis College's Tom Piscano said the sale, expected ahead of a November Town Meeting vote, is contingent on the rezoning passing.
The board separately approved landscaping changes at 215 Newton Street, the Wightman Tennis Center and 26 Columbine, plus a site plan decision for 3 October Lane, all unanimously.
