North Reading Sets Warrant Article Hearing for Tuesday

NORTH READING — Town Hall has scheduled a Warrant Article Hearing for Tuesday, September 22 at 7:15 p.m., the first formal look at the articles headed to the Fall Annual Town Meeting on October 5.

The Warrant Article Hearing will run alongside the Community Planning Commission's hybrid meeting Tuesday night, giving residents an early look at what will appear on the Fall Annual Town Meeting warrant. The Select Board, Finance Committee and several other boards also have meetings on the books this week as the town moves toward the October vote.

Town Hall also posted the official results of the recent State Primary this week, and separately issued a notice addressing questions about water and trash bills dated August 19, aimed at residents who had billing questions from that cycle.

COMING UP

Residents have a busy week of municipal business ahead. On Tuesday, September 22, the Fire Station Building Committee meets virtually at 5 p.m., the Council on Aging meets at 6 p.m., the Select Board holds a hybrid meeting at 6:30 p.m., and the Community Planning Commission holds its hybrid Warrant Article Hearing at 7:15 p.m. On Wednesday, September 23, the Historical Commission meets virtually at 6 p.m., followed by the Hillview Commission at 7 p.m. and the Finance Committee at 7 p.m. The Site Evaluation Committee holds a hybrid meeting Thursday, September 24 at 8:30 a.m.

In the schools, North Reading Middle School holds its Back to School Night on Thursday, September 24, and the School Committee meets Monday, September 28 at 6:30 p.m., followed by a Basic Rights Workshop on Wednesday, September 30 at 6:30 p.m.

Residents planning to vote at the Fall Annual Town Meeting should note that the voter registration deadline is Friday, September 25.
