Natick Little League opens fall baseball and softball registration as Natick Youth Basketball sets save-the-dates for fall travel tryouts.

NATICK -- Youth sports organizations in town spent the week processing registrations and looking ahead to fall seasons, even as high school teams remained on their summer break.

YOUTH LEAGUES -- Natick Little League announced that "registration is now open for all fall programs," according to the league's website, which notes that all programs are open to Natick residents only. The league, which runs baseball programs from Single A through Babe Ruth and softball programs from beginner through senior levels, also continues to offer a financial aid program "to ensure that all Natick students have equal opportunity to learn and enjoy the games of baseball and softball," and an equipment exchange for gently used gear.

Natick Youth Basketball asked families with players interested in its Travel Basketball Program, for grades 4-8, to "save the dates" for tryouts to be held over two weekends this fall: September 25-27 and October 2-4. Players trying out are expected to attend both tryout weekends for their grade, and specific times by grade and gender will be announced in early September. NYB said it cross-references the Natick soccer and football schedules when building the tryout calendar, though it cannot accommodate individual scheduling requests. Registration for all NYB programs, the organization said, will open in mid-August.
