Mayor Dumais Promotes Peckham To Assistant Fire Chief
Mayor J. Christian Dumais announced the promotion of Battalion Chief Michael Peckham to Assistant Fire Chief of Operations, filling the position formerly held by Chief Gogan, according to a City Hall announcement.

Mayor Dumais's office confirmed the promotion of Battalion Chief Michael Peckham to Assistant Fire Chief of Operations, a City Hall release said, with Peckham stepping into the role vacated by Chief Gogan. The city also posted a public notice on the Community Choice Power Supply Program covering August 2026 through January 2027, continuing the aggregation program residents have relied on for lower electricity rates.
Separately, the Board of Health issued a public notice reiterating that West Nile virus has been detected in mosquitoes collected in Marlborough, a finding the Massachusetts Department of Public Health flagged to the city.

The Marlborough Public Library has a full slate of programming this week at its 35 W Main St. location, including an English Conversation Circle, a Life Cycles Workshop, Bead Therapy with ZMakesBeads, and a Choose Your Own Adventure Book Club with Mr. Mike, all set for Thursday, Aug. 6. The library's Undiscovered Realms Science Fiction and Fantasy Book Club met Wednesday evening.
