Holliston Seeks Volunteer To Fill Parks Commission Seat

HOLLISTON — Holliston is seeking a resident to fill an open seat on its Parks Commission, town officials announced this week, one of several volunteer openings the town is working to fill this summer. The call comes as road crews prepared to begin repaving six downtown streets Monday after a one-week delay.

The town is looking to fill an open seat on the Parks Commission, according to a News Flash posted on the town's website. No details on the application process or term length were included; residents interested in serving are directed to the town's website for more information.

In an update to a previously delayed project, road crews were set to begin repaving Pleasant, Spring, School, Exchange, Mechanic and Union streets on Monday, Aug. 10, with additional streets scheduled for repair the week of Aug. 10, the town said.

The Claflin Hill Symphony Orchestra is scheduled to perform in Holliston on Saturday, Aug. 15, according to the town's events calendar.

Ten town boards and committees have meetings on Holliston's calendar this week. The Community Farm Advisory Committee, Board of Health and Policy Advisory Committee meet Tuesday, Aug. 11. The Housing Authority, Community Preservation Committee, Trails Committee and School Building Committee meet Wednesday, Aug. 12, alongside a Wellhead Protection groundwater bylaw Q&A workshop at Upper Town Hall. The Sewer Commission and School Committee Budget Subcommittee meet Thursday, Aug. 13.

The Holliston Farmers Market runs Tuesday, Aug. 11, and returns Tuesday, Aug. 18.
