MAYNARD — April 13, 2026 — Maynard Finance Committee recommends 14 of 32 Annual Town Meeting warrant articles and defers seven others pending Select Board action. Meeting via Zoom on April 13, the five-member panel — Chair Katie Moore, Peter Campbell, Linda Holt, Nikhil Rao, and Nathan Wigfield — voted 5-0 to recommend the FY27 General Fund Budget, the $4,323,684 Sewer Enterprise Fund budget, a $250,000 sewer retained earnings transfer for emergency repairs to rotating biological contractor units at the wastewater treatment plant, and a $151,933 PFAS settlement transfer to the Water Enterprise capital fund, among others. Two citizen petitions — one regulating outdoor lighting and one supporting a change to the Massachusetts state flag — passed 4-1, with Campbell voting no on both; on the flag article, the committee's comment noted "the majority was swayed by the merits of the petition" while acknowledging that "town meeting runs long and it is already difficult to get through the issues pertaining directly to Maynard."
