Library Closes Main Street Entrance for Corridor Project Through July 25

HOPKINTON — The Hopkinton Public Library has closed its Main Street entrance through July 25 while crews continue work on the town's Main Street Corridor Project, directing visitors to enter through the Church Street doors instead.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The library said the closure began Wednesday, July 15, and will run through Saturday, July 25, as construction continues along Main Street. Patrons are asked to use the Church Street entrance for the duration of the work, and the library pointed visitors to the town's Main Street Corridor Project website for further updates. The library operates on extended summer hours through Labor Day, open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and until 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and remains closed Sundays.

The library also has two events on the calendar this week with a community and arts bent. On Saturday, July 18, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., the Betty Strong Room hosts a Coffee House performance, "Songs of Tradition, Sung Anew." On Monday, July 20, from 4 to 5:30 p.m., the same room hosts "250th: DIY Declarations," a hands-on program tied to the run-up to the nation's 250th anniversary.

COMING UP The library's Children's Programming Room has a full slate of drop-in offerings this week: Babytime on Friday, July 17, from 9:15 to 10 a.m.; Little Explorers the same day from 10:30 to 11:15 a.m.; and Drop-in Family Activities on Saturday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Teens can find the YA CreatorSpace Crafternoon in the CreatorSpace classroom on Monday, July 20, from 3 to 5 p.m.
