Groton Center launches home delivery for Loaves and Fishes Pantry

GROTON — The Groton Center is now offering delivery of Loaves and Fishes Pantry groceries to residents who lack transportation to the Devens-based food pantry, the town announced Thursday.

The Groton Center said transportation has been a major barrier keeping eligible residents from picking up groceries at Loaves and Fishes, which offers a wide variety of items to anyone facing food insecurity. The new delivery option is meant to close that gap for residents who can't make the trip to Devens themselves.

The town's website also continues to display a Level 3 Critical Drought declaration for Groton, a designation that typically calls for the most restrictive water-use measures under the state's drought management framework.

Separately, the Town Clerk's office will be closed Friday, July 17, and will resume normal business hours Monday, July 20, according to a notice posted on the town website.
