Early Voting Opens In Wakefield Ahead Of Sept. 1 Primary
WAKEFIELD — Wakefield voters can now cast early, in-person ballots ahead of the September 1 state primary, the town announced this week, as Beebe Library closed its doors Monday for four days of HVAC repairs and a Wakefield store turned up a big Massachusetts Lottery winner.

The Town of Wakefield is reminding residents that early, in-person voting is now underway ahead of the September 1 state primary, according to a notice posted on the town's website. The primary sets the ballot for the fall general election; residents can find early-voting hours and locations through the Town Clerk's office.

Lucius Beebe Memorial Library closed its Main Street building Monday for four days of HVAC work and is expected to reopen Thursday, August 27. In the meantime, cardholders can use their Wakefield library cards at other NOBLE network libraries, including branches in Melrose, Reading, Stoneham and Lynnfield, the library said.
Beebe Library also added a new date to its fall calendar: Boston-born drummer and composer Lee Fish will perform as part of the library's Plaza Jazz series on Thursday, September 3, at 6 p.m. on the library plaza.
