Burlington Hosts First 'You Are Not Alone' Mental Health Awareness Night
Burlington marked its first "You Are Not Alone" Mental Health Awareness Night this week, a community gathering the town billed as a chance for residents to come together around mental health support. The event landed the same week Town Hall geared up for the Sept. 1 state primary and Burlington Public Schools entered its final stretch before the new year.
TOWN HALL Town Hall is in full preparation mode for the Sept. 1 state primary. The Town Clerk's office is scheduled to conduct tabulator testing at Town Hall on Monday, Aug. 24, the same day the Town Meeting Electronic Voting Committee is set to meet. Early in-person voting continues at Town Hall through the week. The Recreation Commission also has a meeting on Monday's calendar.
SCHOOLS Burlington Public Schools is in its final run-up to the new year. Teachers report for three days of setup and professional development, Aug. 25 through 27, and Burlington High School holds freshman orientation on Aug. 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. Students in grades 1-12 return Aug. 31, with pre-kindergarten and kindergarten starting Sept. 8, the same day the School Committee holds its first meeting of the year.
