Carlisle Transfer Station Pulls Cardboard Container From Service

CARLISLE — Carlisle's Transfer Station has taken its cardboard collection container out of service, directing residents to follow posted signage for disposal instead. The change came the same week Town Hall added three surplus generators and three storage tents to its public sale list and posted the August edition of its Municipal Newsletter online.

The Transfer Station's cardboard container is out of service, and the town is asking residents to follow signs and instructions on site for cardboard disposal in the meantime, according to a News Flash posted by the town.

Town Hall also expanded its list of municipal surplus items for sale this week. Three generators and three storage tents that are no longer needed for municipal use joined the tractor and four trucks the town listed for sale earlier this week, giving residents a growing slate of used equipment to bid on.

Separately, the town posted the August edition of its Municipal Newsletter, which rounds up town and community news, celebrations and happenings; the town said community group submissions to the newsletter are welcome.

COMING UP

The Community Preservation Commission meets in hybrid format Monday, Aug. 24. The Select Board meets Tuesday, Aug. 25, in hybrid sessions that include joint meetings with the Historical Commission and with the Municipal Facilities Committee. The Carlisle School Committee holds a remote meeting Wednesday, Aug. 26, at 1 p.m.
