CARLISLE — Concord Historical Commission sets May 8 public comment deadline for its long-awaited historic preservation plan. Chair Doug Ellis and commission members mapped out presentations before at least six boards and civic groups between April 8 and May 6, including the Planning Board, Historic Districts Commission, Natural Resources Commission, League of Women Voters, and West Concord Advisory Committee, with a Select Board briefing to follow town meeting once feedback is collected. The commission is operating short-handed: two members confirmed they will step down around town meeting, staff coordinator Ann is on medical leave due to a family health crisis, and no clerk or vice chair is currently filled.

A prospective new member who identified himself only as Michael attended as an observer, and Ellis encouraged him to file the town's volunteer form. Departing member Nancy flagged unresolved work on the Route 2 Battle Road corridor and Hanscom Air Force Base, warning that "they are dismissive of us," and said she would follow up with MassDOT contact George Batchelor before leaving the commission.
