Concord-Carlisle School Committee Approves OPM Hire, $400,000 Transfer for Amenities Building

CONCORD — July 10, 2026 — Concord-Carlisle Regional School Committee unanimously approved an owner's project manager hire and a $400,000 capital fund transfer to advance the district's amenities building project at its July 10 meeting. The committee selected Doran Whittier as OPM based on the recommendation of a selection committee composed of Assistant Superintendent Bob Kopec and Assistant Facilities Director Rocky Griffin, who evaluated three respondent firms; a key factor was that Doran Whittier's designated project director, Vin Miller, previously oversaw the Concord Middle School construction. The $400,000 transfer from the CCRSD Capital Stabilization Fund covers the sewer connection fee — now estimated at $270,000 to $280,000 against an earlier $350,000 placeholder — plus OPM and design engineering fees for the construction phase; any unspent funds return to the stabilization account. Kopec told the committee he is targeting the last week of July for a follow-on vote to accept a construction bid. The committees also paused to bid farewell to outgoing Concord Middle School Principal Justin Dolber, who departs for Ashland Public Schools after nine years that included the COVID pandemic and the construction of the new middle school building.
