Board defers Climate Action Plan, raises abutters fee to $35
Select Board · Meeting of September 28, 2026
Boxborough Select Board shelves Climate Action Plan, raises abutters fee to $35. The board, chaired by Robert Stemple, unanimously appointed Diane Ford to the Council on Aging and reappointed Gary Kushner to the Capital Committee, both 4-0. Member Kristin Hilberg said she "could not vote to adopt" the full Climate Action Plan without a prioritized list, so staff will return in October.
New Town Assessor Linda won approval for a flat $35 abutters-list fee, replacing a $10-to-$30 variable charge. The board recommended several Fall Town Meeting articles 4-0, including $5,459 more for the Devens hazardous-waste collective, but passed over a $25,000 beaver-dam engineering study at Hager Bridge and a proposed $1.8 million purchase of the Richardson farmland, with Stemple recusing himself from the latter over a family representation conflict.
