Blasting Notice Issued For N. Main Street Work Friday
Town officials issued a blasting notice for 49 N. Main Street covering a seven-hour window Friday, while J.V. Fletcher Library rolled out a busy slate of August programs including a puppet-band concert and a virtual author talk.

The town's News Flash system posted a blasting notice for 49 N. Main Street, warning residents of blasting activity scheduled from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Details on precautions or duration of the broader project were not included in the notice.

J.V. Fletcher Library, still operating from its temporary Groton Road location during the ongoing building project, has a full slate of programs opening in early August. The Toe Jam Puppet Band will perform a children's music concert Monday, Aug. 10, from 3 to 4 p.m. at Abbot Elementary School, 25 Depot Street.
Other newly listed events include a "Tent at Twilight" painting session with Julie Harrold on Monday, Aug. 3, at the Roudenbush Community Center; a rescheduled "Grow Your Own Grass Head" children's program Tuesday, Aug. 4, at the Westford Community Gardens; and an Adult Nonfiction Book Club meeting the same day. A Middle Grade Book Club gathers Wednesday, Aug. 5, and a "Cardboard Build: Let's Make Flowers" session is set for Thursday, Aug. 6, both at their respective temporary or recreation-department locations.
