Westford Enacts Stage III Water Restrictions Immediately

WESTFORD — Westford is under mandatory Stage III outdoor water restrictions effective immediately, the town's Water Department announced, citing sustained, excessive non-essential demand on the water system.

TOWN HALL Westford is now under Stage III outdoor water restrictions, effective immediately, the Westford Water Department announced Wednesday. The department cited sustained, excessive non-essential water demand as the reason for the tightened rules. Residents are urged to review the department's outdoor watering guidance before using water outdoors for lawns, gardens or vehicle washing.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The J.V. Fletcher Library has lined up two new programs for the weeks ahead. Stickerpalooza, a craft-focused event for kids and families, is set for Thursday, September 10, from 4 to 5 p.m. at the Westford Recreation Department's Roudenbush Community Center. The library is also opening a new virtual series, "Historical Fiction Book Recs with Bestselling Author, Jane Healey," a four-part Zoom conversation beginning Tuesday, September 8, at 6:30 p.m. and continuing into December.

The Public Shade Tree Hearing, Economic Development Committee, Voting Machine Testing and the Westford 300th Anniversary Committee all meet Thursday, August 20. The Community Behavioral and Mental Health Committee meets Monday, August 24, the same day the library's Monday Mystery Book Club gathers at Roudenbush Community Center. The Select Board meets Tuesday, August 25, followed by the Conservation Commission on Wednesday, August 26.
