Wayland Cultural Council defers grant votes, plans April 17 grantee reception

WAYLAND — April 8, 2026 — Wayland Cultural Council punts grant votes to May, locks in April 17 reception plans. Chair Pallavi Nagesha said the council lacked a quorum to approve March 11 minutes or to take final votes on a $500 mural project allocation and the Echoes of Liberty grant, pushing both to the May 13 meeting. Naresh Mysore confirmed $345 in administrative funding, which Nagesha said would cover "finger food" from BJ's for the April 17 grantee reception at the Senior Center, 6 to 8 p.m. Maryam Libdi reported the venue can seat 40 at round tables and will be set for 30. Members agreed to open the previously invite-only event to the public and add a short slide presentation on the grant application cycle, with associate member Iniyan Gandhi designing a flyer. The council adjourned unanimously at 7:21 p.m.
