Wakefield Sets September 26 for Annual Town Day
WAKEFIELD — Wakefield's Board of Assessors is completing its fiscal year 2027 revaluation of all real and personal property as the town gears up for its annual Town Day on September 26, a family-friendly gathering on the Common.

The Board of Assessors is in the final stages of the fiscal year 2027 revaluation of all real and personal property in town, according to the town's website. Residents can find more information on the process through the town's homepage.
Town Administrator Denise Casey will hold public office hours on September 25 at Rise and Shine Coffee House, giving residents a chance to meet with her directly.
Wakefield's Health and Human Services Department has added flu clinics throughout the fall, expanding opportunities for residents to get vaccinated closer to home.
The Department of Public Works has begun upcoming roadwork on Main Street, Bartley Street, Nelly Street and Fox Road; residents are asked to allow extra time if their commute runs through the area.

Lucius Beebe Memorial Library kicks off a five-week community reading of Homer's Odyssey on September 21 at 7 p.m., led by Chris Constas, who has guided college undergraduates through the epic.
The library's Beebe Board Game Club meets September 24 at 6 p.m. for adult board-game play, part of its monthly last-Thursday gathering. That evening at 7 p.m., the library also hosts an author talk with children's musician and author Lucky Diaz; residents can register in advance to submit questions.
