Townsend Sets July 10 Trash Renewal Deadline as Town Hall Shifts to Four-Day Summer Week
With Town Hall shifting to a four-day schedule and the curbside trash renewal window closing in less than two weeks, residents have a pair of logistical deadlines to keep in mind as the summer holiday weekend arrives.
TOWN HALL
Town Hall closed on Fridays through the end of August, effective as of June 18. Residents needing in-person services should plan visits Monday through Thursday.
The deadline to renew enrollment in the 2026–2027 curbside trash and recycling program is July 10. The town opened registration earlier this month; households that miss the cutoff may lose their place in the program for the coming year.
Also on the calendar: the next Community Electric Aggregation sweep is scheduled for July 13, 2026. Residents who want to opt out before that sweep should act before that date — the town posted the notice June 22.
COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Townsend Public Library will be closed Friday, July 4, Saturday, July 5, and Sunday, July 6 for Independence Day. The library's regular summer programming, including Summer Reading, continues on either side of the holiday break. Residents looking for upcoming events can check the library's online calendar at townsendlibrary.org.
