Townsend Board of Health closes 45 Edward Road, presses 61 Edward Road case
Board of Health · Meeting of August 10, 2026
Townsend Board of Health closes one Edward Road enforcement case, presses toward court on another. The board voted unanimously to declare 45 Edward Road compliant after Nashoba Sanitarian Rick Metcalf reported the property roughly 90 percent cleaned up, while directing Clerk Todd Arsenault to make one final in-person visit to 61 Edward Road before deciding whether to seek town counsel for a Housing Court filing, estimated at $1,400. "It is our responsibility to promote public sanitary safety around town," Chair Dr.
Christian Roman-Ramirez said. The board approved $65,940.52 in invoices, including a $61,091 hauling contract, and Health Administrator Carla Walter reported 2,145 pay-as-you-throw stickers sold against a 2,200 goal. Members also designated Nashoba staff to represent Townsend in Region 2 emergency preparedness coalition votes for fiscal year 2027 and planned public forums on the trash program for October 26 and November 9.
