Tyngsborough Board of Health adopts tighter body work rules, opens fight over smart meter opt-out fees. The board voted 4-0 to approve amended body work establishment regulations effective August 24, tightening identification, background-check and advertising rules with help from Town Counsel Alex Castro. Vice-Chair Sheila Perrault pushed the board to consider pressing National Grid for a no-fee smart meter opt-out, citing a Vermont law and saying residents with health concerns "should have that ability and not have to pay that extra monthly fee." Castro cautioned the board would need solid data before writing to the utility or Legislature.

The board also approved a tattoo apprenticeship for Austin Perry 4-0 after shop co-owner Tony Paterno challenged the state's biennial TB-testing requirement for practitioners, and tabled a consultant review fee tied to Title V pending required newspaper advertisement.
