Wayland Board of Health defers goose complaint, advances tobacco crackdown. The board voted 4-0 Monday to stay a legal order against the residents of 154 Boston Post Road for 30 days after tenant Sandra Pires told members through tears she had bought what she thought was a duckling at Tractor Supply. The property is permitted for one goose and two ducks but currently houses two geese and one duck; the abutter, identified as Mike, said he would withdraw his complaint if the family returned to the original mix.

The board also unanimously appointed Katerina Koliovska-Tobaygo as Regional Tobacco Control Inspector and reviewed draft regulations that would ban oral nicotine pouches, prohibit vape sales, and cap tobacco permits at seven, down from 11. Member Brett Mordas, a dentist, said he sees pouch-related oral lesions in teenagers "immediately by looking at the tissue." Wayland would be the fifth Massachusetts town to ban oral nicotine pouches.
