Sudbury Select Board fills Sewataro advisory committee in series of 3-2 votes

SUDBURY — April 14, 2026 — Sudbury Select Board fills Sewataro advisory committee on a string of 3-2 votes. The board appointed Granger Atkinson, Kay Bell, Jennifer Pincus, Debbie Dineen, Dave Henkels and William Pimentel to the new Liberty Ledge/Sewataro Advisory Committee after more than an hour of dispute over methodology, with members Daniel Carty and Charles Russo calling the category-by-category process a "charade" with "no integrity." Housing-category finalist Rachel Henschel failed 2-3 after Chair Lisa Kouchakdjian and Vice Chair Janie Dretler cited her prior advocacy for extending the Sewataro camp license; Pimentel, who has children at the camp, was approved 4-0-1 and directed to consult the State Ethics Commission. The board also voted 4-1 to support a $200,000 Vocational Education Stabilization Fund — over the Finance Committee's 0-7 opposition — and 3-2 to back a $20,000 Liberty Ledge consultant article, and unanimously appointed land-use attorney Ian Henchey to the Zoning Board of Appeals and Victor Sokowski to a revived Agricultural Commission.
