Sudbury School Committee ratifies three union contracts after 10 months of bargaining
SPS School Committee · Meeting of January 5, 2026
Sudbury School Committee approves three union memoranda after 10 months of talks. Meeting January 5, the four-member committee voted 4-0 on each of three memoranda of agreement, covering the Sudbury Education Association, the Educational Support Professionals Association of Sudbury, and the Sudbury Educational Association of Custodial Employees, all signed by the negotiation subcommittee chair on December 23, 2025. The chair told members that units A, B and C "haven't ratified the contract yet, I believe they may be doing it this week." Negotiation subcommittee chair Jessica, who moved each motion, called the outcome "a good contract for all parties involved." The committee separately authorized the chair and superintendent to issue a joint press release contingent on the SEA ratification vote.
Financial terms were not disclosed in open session. The meeting adjourned at 8:25 p.m.
