Sudbury's Liberty Ledge/Sewataro Advisory Committee voted unanimously to rule out selling the town's 44-acre Liberty Ledge property, even as members split over whether to also bar market-rate housing on part of the land. Committee Chair Dave Henkels and members Kathleen Bell, Debbie Dineen, Jennifer Pincus and Roderick Gargaia heard from roughly a dozen residents, including Friends of Sewataro organizer Laura Briggs, who said "our goal... is to protect that land and preserve it from development." Dineen warned the panel must be "very, very cautious" about tipping the balance toward private benefit if it considers a longer camp lease. The committee has received about 425 survey responses so far and must send recommendations to the Select Board by October 31.
Debate over housing on the property's wooded north parcels, near Greystone Lane, was tabled to the Aug. 27 meeting.
