SUDBURY — The Liberty Ledge/Sewataro Advisory Committee voted 4-2 to recommend the town's next camp-property RFP prioritize a camp operator as the primary long-term use. Members Granger Atkinson, Dave Henkels, Rada Gargea and Jennifer Pincus voted yes; Kay Bell and Deb Dineen voted no. Atkinson argued "there's no reason to not have a camp there at this moment," citing roughly $500,000 in annual camp payments toward the property's debt, while Dineen called an early commitment "irresponsible" before seeing how expanded town programming develops.
Combined Facilities Director Sandra Duran told the panel a 2021 ADA transition plan already exists but lacks town funding, with past improvements paid entirely by the camp operator. The committee then unanimously adopted its full 12-item draft recommendations for an Oct. 8 public presentation and Oct. 23 submission to the Select Board.
