Stewardship Committee · Meeting of February 18, 2026
GROTON — The Stewardship Committee edited its Carol Wheeler Park invasive-plant grant application and set a March 14 Noonan Woods site walk. Members reworked the draft on a shared screen, changing the species name to Asian bittersweet and saying herbicide would be applied directly to stumps over "several years." The Groton Garden Club was asked to donate at least $1,000 for plants but had not formally voted. Members told a Lawrence Academy teacher leading a 12-student hiking course that snow could limit March 12 and March 18 service work and asked her to call shortly before.
Members also discussed pre-burn vegetation plots at Nipmuck Meadows. The committee's only recorded vote was to adjourn.
