Shattuck Street Work Begins Monday, Town Warns of Delays

LITTLETON — Drivers should brace for delays starting Monday as work begins on the Shattuck Street traffic island, even as the town notched two grant wins and a positive report on its long-term finances.

The town says work on the Shattuck Street traffic island begins Monday, July 20, and residents should expect delays in the area while the project is underway.

Littleton is also benefiting from a regional grant: the CrossTown Connect Transportation Management Association received a $96,690 grant to relaunch its regional transportation programs, according to a Town Hall announcement. Separately, the town announced a new grant award tied to its "Advancing Accessibility in Littleton" initiative, though details on the award's scope were not specified in the release.

On the finance side, a new Massachusetts Other Post-Employment Benefits (OPEB) summary report shows Littleton "continues strong progress" on long-term financial planning for retiree benefit obligations, the town said.

The Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Committee meets Tuesday, July 21, at 6:30 p.m. in the Murray Conference Room at Reuben Hoar Library.

Also Tuesday, July 21, the Conservation Commission holds its regular meeting at 7:30 p.m. via Zoom, followed by three public hearings: Webster Woods Conservation Land at 7:45 p.m., the Castle in the Trees Park project at 300 King Street at 8 p.m., and a matter at 550 King Street at 8:15 p.m.

The Planning Board meets Thursday, July 23, at 6:30 p.m. via Zoom.
