Boxborough opens Fall Town Meeting warrant, nears a new Comcast cable deal. The Select Board voted 4-0 Monday, with Clerk Samuel Anderson absent, to open the warrant for the November 16 Fall Town Meeting, closing to articles September 14. Town Counsel Nicole Costanzo outlined a proposed 10-year Comcast license running through 2036, including a $50,000 performance bond, a $35,000 upfront capital contribution over five years, and a still-unresolved push for a high-definition government-access channel.

"The financial figures, in my opinion, are fair and reasonable," Costanzo said. The board also appointed Joy Giger, Michelle Ryan and Claudine Lesk to town committees and directed the DPW to add pavement to fix a four-year-old drainage complaint on Blanchard Road, after Director Ed Kukla said a missing berm from a prior repaving project was "wasn't in the contract" and something he took responsibility for.
