Maynard Select Board forwards a first-of-its-kind wine bar license to state regulators and splits 3-2 on a bridge rail design. Manager Stephanie Fitman won unanimous approval to send Barrels and Vines LLC's Section 15 wine license application to the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission, arguing her sample-and-sell model "was never contemplated" under current liquor categories; Town Administrator Gregory Johnson said a town counsel opinion was still pending. The board also unanimously backed a Drinking Water State Revolving Fund application for the $20 million to $25 million Rockland Avenue well project and adopted updated water rules addressing backflow enforcement and accessory-dwelling-unit water demand, which DPW Director Justin Marco said could reach 330 gallons a day per unit.

On the Main Street Bridge replacement, members split 3-2 for a steel guardrail over a concrete parapet, with member Chris DiSilva objecting that "there's only a few bridges in town — they all look alike."
