School Building Committee Releases Letter on Facilities Plans

The Holliston School Building Committee released a public letter Thursday addressing the district's ongoing facility planning process, a development that comes as the town continues to weigh options for its aging school infrastructure.

TOWN HALL

The School Building Committee's letter, posted to the town's News Flash feed Thursday afternoon, marks the latest communication in an ongoing process tied to the district's facilities planning work. The town has not released additional detail beyond the letter itself, which residents can review on the town website.

Separately, the town's calendar shows a full slate of board and committee meetings this week, including the Historical Commission meeting Friday at 52 Jasper Hill Road, the Housing Trust meeting remotely Monday, and the Select Board convening Monday in Room 105 and remotely. The Board of Health and the Golf Course Advisory Committee are both scheduled to meet Tuesday.

SCHOOLS

The Holliston Public Schools website lists the School Building Committee letter among its latest superintendent communications, tying the district's facilities discussion directly to recent central-office messaging. The district's home page also continues to point families toward its MSBA Feasibility Study materials and AI Deepfake Guidelines resource, both listed among ongoing district priorities.

Looking ahead, the district's calendar shows back-to-school events beginning in mid-to-late August, including a New to Placentino orientation for new Grade 1 and Grade 2 students on August 19 and Placentino's Back-to-School Open Houses on August 24.

COMMUNITY & ARTS

The Holliston Public Library continues to promote its lineup of digital programming and online author talks, including an upcoming virtual conversation billed as "Humor, Heart, and Reflective Rural Stories with Michael Perry." The library also flagged a recent Board of Trustees policy update on holds, adopted July 2, 2025, which changes how reserved materials are handled for patrons.

Town-wide, the community calendar shows the Holliston Farmers Market and the Concerts in the Park series both returning Tuesday, July 28, with a performance by Colin Fields, followed by a Group Therapy Band concert set for Friday, July 31.
