BURLINGTON — The Planning Board approved a commercial kennel special permit for a cat-only hotel at 1 Wheeler Road. The Feline & Co., LLC plans up to 50 cats in about 44 suites, with grooming and an isolation room, but no overnight staff; owner Manuela Leah Shetland said cameras and a fire alarm tied to the Burlington Fire Department would cover nights, with a response time of about 30 minutes. Members asked about fire evacuation, power outages and ventilation, and one proposed a 30-minute staff-distance condition that was not adopted.
The board also approved a site plan waiver for a roughly 448-square-foot secure vestibule at Francis Wyman Elementary and granted a two-year extension, to Dec. 14, 2028, for 1 Burlington Mall Road.
