Pepperell preservation panel tables minutes, presses stalled ballfield repairs

Pepperell's Community Preservation Committee flagged stalled ballfield repairs and tabled its March minutes at an April 30 meeting. Members said requests for qualifications for softball and baseball court repairs, approved by town meeting roughly two years ago, have been delayed in part by a townwide IT security breach; one member warned that if bids don't move by an August 13 reorganization meeting, "the ball isn't in our court" much longer. A financial update showed the fund has awarded about $372,000 to historical projects and $160,000 to open space and recreation, with roughly $218,000 still uncommitted; a member broke down category shares as 49.8 percent historical, 27.9 percent affordable housing, 20.3 percent open space and 2 percent administration.

Members also flagged a warrant-article wording issue over a roughly $300,000 appropriation that isn't fully drawn from undesignated funds, and moved future grant applications to individual town accounts.
