Pepperell Board of Health continues a composting cease-and-desist order pending a zoning ruling. Members re-elected Steve as chair and heard an appeal over roughly 10 odor complaints tied to a site at 57 Nashua Road in the Lomar Park area, where attorney Robert Cirillo argued the operation is a contractor's yard, not composting, and that "there was not a heavy smell of fish." Board of Health Agent Kayleen countered it is "in my opinion a composting operation" and recommended the board wait for a written determination from the town's building inspector. The board voted 2-0, with one member unable to hear proceedings, to continue the hearing to its next meeting, June 9.

Separately, the board discussed unresolved rat complaints near Tucker Street and a proposed right-to-farm bylaw protocol with the Agricultural Commission's Cheryl, who said the bylaw revision heading to fall Town Meeting will keep board notification discretionary rather than mandatory.
