Natick Planning Board approves 273 West Central Street redevelopment 5-0, with $125,000 signal condition. The board's roll-call vote for Gables Residential's mixed-use project came with two conditions: a one-time $125,000 payment for traffic-signal upgrades at West Central Street and Kendall Lane, based on a $109,000 vendor quote plus 15 percent contingency, and a "best efforts" commitment to resolve town right-of-way rights before occupancy. Gables' Jorgen Ponda called the signal scope "more than we thought for just the crosswalks, but within the scope of the project." The board also opened, then continued to August 19, a five-lot subdivision hearing for 0 Pleasant Street after the applicant requested a late postponement, extending the decision deadline 21 days.
