Melrose eyes pickleball courts in $10 million park overhaul as fall league registration opens.
MELROSE --
TOWN -- A proposed $10 million overhaul of a 19-acre Melrose park would add new pickleball courts, according to a Patch report published July 14.
YOUTH LEAGUES -- Melrose Youth Soccer says fall registration is open, according to a June 8 posting on the league's website. The nonprofit, which serves players ages 5-18, runs a recreational "City" program alongside a competitive Travel program that plays in the Middlesex Youth Soccer League. An April 28 posting on the site noted that evaluations are required for the Fall '26 travel program.
The Melrose Youth Sports Association is registering players for its 2026 fall baseball and softball seasons and is also accepting fall coach applications, according to its website. The association said it continues to need concession-stand volunteers age 13 and older and asked interested residents to contact Karen Gassaway.
