Marlborough Police Begin Body Camera Rollout

Marlborough's police department started outfitting officers with body cameras this week, following through on a long-planned rollout, Marlborough Patch reports. Separately, Mayor J. Christian Dumais announced a new provider for the city's emergency ambulance service.

TOWN HALL

Mayor Dumais announced this week that Coastal Medical Transportation Systems will become Marlborough's new provider of emergency ambulance service, taking over 911 medical response duties for the city. The mayor's office framed the switch as part of an ongoing effort to keep emergency medical coverage reliable as Marlborough continues to grow.

The city also moved ahead with previously announced mosquito-control work: crews began treating designated areas after 8:30 p.m. Wednesday following this month's West Nile virus detection in local mosquito samples, according to Marlborough Patch. The Board of Health notice posted to the city's website reiterated that the virus had been found in mosquitoes collected in Marlborough.

Marlborough Public Library has two flagship draws for families over the next week: a "Little M" Library Carnival on Saturday, Aug. 22, at noon, and the finale of its Musical Monday series on Monday, Aug. 24, at 10 a.m.
