Littleton to close in on Shattuck Street traffic island starting Monday

LITTLETON — Crews will begin work on the Shattuck Street traffic island Monday, July 20, and the town is warning residents to expect delays, according to a Town Hall alert issued Wednesday.

The Shattuck Street traffic island project starts Monday, July 20, with delays expected in the area, the town said in a News Flash alert posted Wednesday. No end date or detour details were included in the notice.

The town also announced two grant awards this week. CrossTown Connect, the regional Transportation Management Association, received a $96,690 grant to relaunch its regional transportation programs. Separately, Littleton touted a grant tied to an "Advancing Accessibility in Littleton" initiative, though the amount was not specified in the town's release.

Town Hall additionally posted a Massachusetts OPEB (Other Post-Employment Benefits) Summary Report, saying Littleton "continues strong progress on long-term financial planning," and put out information on in-person early voting ahead of the State Primary.

The Conservation Commission holds three public hearings Tuesday, July 21, all virtual: Webster Woods Conservation Land at 7:45 p.m., a proposed park at 300 King St. ("Castle in the Trees") at 8 p.m., and a matter at 550 King St. at 8:15 p.m.
