Lincoln panel approves $19,030 in change orders

Community Center Building Committee · Meeting of September 23, 2026

Lincoln's Community Center Building Committee approved $19,030 in net change orders while blasting contractor Hutter Construction over a schedule that has slipped toward January 2027. Member Todd Staples said "there's no plan, hope, dream, wishing," and owner's project manager Ksenia Slavsky said the town is limited to "continuously emphasize that what's going on has been inadequate" while consulting legal counsel. The project is 52 percent invoiced at $13.5 million, and original $1.8 million contingency has fallen to $913,000.

Resident Peter Von Mertens objected to $4,000 "Goldilocks chairs," calling the price "way too much money" for furniture the town needs 18 of. The committee also confirmed a $30,000 refund from a lower-than-expected ledge-blasting bill and approved change orders for a wireless access point, a faucet deletion credit, and flooring-pattern inserts.
