Lincoln Library Opens Second Seed Library, Honors Departing Trustee

LINCOLN — Lincoln Public Library this week highlighted the launch of its second annual seed library and a tribute to a longtime trustee, alongside three community programs scheduled for July 20.

The Lincoln Public Library is marking the launch of its second annual seed library, inviting residents to take and share seeds as part of the ongoing program. The library is also inviting the community to join in honoring Peter Sugar as he steps down from the Library Board of Trustees, and has opened submissions for the Virginia Rundell Award.

Separately, the library noted that Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School's connection to musician John Flansburgh of the band They Might Be Giants, who got his start there in 1982, was the subject of a recent Boston.com interview in which he discussed the library's role in his early career.

COMING UP

Three library programs are on the calendar for Monday, July 20. "Craft & Chill: Vision Boards" offers a relaxed crafting session. Mystery Mondays will discuss "The Coroner's Lunch" by Colin Cotterill as part of its "Sleuths of a Certain Age" series. And as part of Lincoln's 250th anniversary commemorations, independent historian Gracia Collins Rich will speak on the Black experience of the Revolution.
