Lincoln Library Launches Second Annual Seed Library, Opens Award Entries

DATELINE — LINCOLN The Lincoln Public Library is marking a round of transitions and new offerings this week, highlighted by trustee Peter Sugar's departure from the Library Board of Trustees and the launch of the library's second annual Seed Library.

COMMUNITY & ARTS The Lincoln Public Library is honoring Peter Sugar as he steps down from the Library Board of Trustees, the library announced on its website. The library did not detail the length of Sugar's tenure or a replacement trustee in the announcement.

The library has also opened its second annual Seed Library, inviting patrons to take and share seeds, and is now accepting submissions for the Virginia Rundell Award. Separately, the library added four new wifi hotspots to its lending collection for patrons who want internet access on trips.

On Monday, July 20, the library hosts historian Gracia Collins Rich for a talk on the Black experience of the American Revolution, part of the library's ongoing Lincoln250 series marking the nation's semiquincentennial.

COMING UP The Lincoln Public Library has two additional programs scheduled for Monday, July 20: "Craft & Chill: Vision Boards," a relaxed craft session, and "Mystery Mondays," which this month features a discussion of Colin Cotterill's "The Coroner's Lunch." Both are in addition to the library's Gracia Collins Rich lecture the same day.
