Library Board of Trustees · Meeting of May 5, 2026
Watertown library trustees approved a series of budget transfers and accepted April donations at their May 5 meeting. Library Director Long reported the budget is 76.4 percent spent, consistent with past years, and urged trustees to attend the May 11 city council budget hearing, where the library's request is third on the agenda, including a proposal to convert a Hatch branch position from part-time to full-time. Trustees unanimously approved transfers including $10,000 from part-time salaries to overtime and $3,200 from book processing to staff development, authorized the treasurer to approve further transfers through fiscal year's end, and approved $2,225 from a trust fund to continue ordering materials during the fiscal year transition.
The board also began a review of its bylaws, last updated in 2016, and set an August 15 deadline for input on the director's annual performance review.
