COMMUNITY & ARTS
The Weston Public Library has packed its Community Room calendar with children's programming this month. On Tuesday, July 21, from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Wicked Fun Games hosts "Escape the Terrible Thicket," an hour-long escape-room experience for kids. A week later, on Tuesday, July 28, from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., young patrons can try their hand at "Forensic Crime Lab," learning basic investigative techniques and testing them out on a simulated case.
Crafters can look forward to the Felted Butterfly Hoop Workshop on Monday, July 20, from 4 to 5 p.m., a beginner-friendly needle-felting class described by the library as relaxing and beginner-friendly. Two princess-themed storytimes — one featuring a "Warrior Princess" and another a "Miracle Sister" — invite children to dress in royal attire, including ruqun, lamellar armor, or a puebla dress, for photos and songs.
The library also continues its "Sail into Summer" reading program, with registration open through August 3, and has added a new recording to its collection: Johannes Brahms' Piano Concerto No. 2, billed as a "great summer listen" ahead of the return of the library's concert series this fall.
