Library Closes Main Street Entrance for Corridor Construction

HOPKINTON — The Hopkinton Public Library's Main Street entrance shut down Wednesday and will stay closed through July 25 as crews continue work on the town's Main Street Corridor Project, sending visitors to the Church Street entrance for the next week and a half.

The library says the Main Street entrance will be unavailable from Wednesday, July 15, through Saturday, July 25, because of ongoing construction tied to the town's Main Street Corridor Project. Patrons are asked to use the Church Street entrance during that stretch; the library apologized for the inconvenience and pointed residents to the town's project website for the latest construction updates.

The closure comes as the library runs its extended summer schedule, open until 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday and staying open Saturdays through Labor Day weekend.

COMING UP

Families can catch Babytime at 9:15 a.m. and Little Explorers at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 17, both in the Children's Programming Room. Drop-in Family Activities run 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 18, followed that afternoon by "Coffee House: Songs of Tradition, Sung Anew" from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m. in the Betty Strong Room. On Monday, July 20, teens can join the YA CreatorSpace Crafternoon from 3 to 5 p.m., and the library hosts a "250th: DIY Declarations" program from 4 to 5:30 p.m., also in the Betty Strong Room.
