Concord Health Officials Track Cyclosporiasis Amid National Case Uptick
CONCORD — Concord's Board of Health is monitoring cyclosporiasis case activity after the CDC flagged a rise in the parasitic gastrointestinal illness across multiple states this summer, even as the town says local case counts remain typical for the season.
TOWN HALL Concord's Board of Health is asking residents to be aware of cyclosporiasis, a gastrointestinal illness caused by the microscopic parasite Cyclospora, after the CDC noted rising case numbers in multiple states this summer. The town's advisory, posted this week, says Massachusetts' case count remains typical for this time of year but urges residents to stay alert as national tracking continues.
The town also reminded residents that lawn-watering restrictions remain in effect amid the summer's hot weather, part of its ongoing water-conservation measures.
COMMUNITY & ARTS At the Concord Free Public Library's Main Library, the Munroe Gallery is hosting "Summer Memories," a solo exhibition by Massachusetts artist Lucinda Hamilton exploring the landscapes and places that shape personal memory. The show runs through July 30.
Also on view at the Main Library is "A Celebration of the Declaration: An Exhibition of Rare 1776 Documents," which continues through July 26 before it closes.
