Well Being Committee · Meeting of July 21, 2026

Boxborough Well-Being Committee hears warning of converging condo assessment crisis and rising homelessness. At its July 21 virtual meeting, the committee received an extended update from the town's human services coordinator, identified only as Wendy, on two active unhoused residents, one living in his car after a rental-assistance program ended, and on a cluster of financial shocks threatening Boxborough's condo communities: Harvard Ridge unit owners face special assessments of $25,000 to $32,000 following a $5 million insurance shortfall from the Leverett House fire, Brook Village owners face pipe-project assessments of $14,000 to $18,000 spread over 20 years, and an ongoing Littleton water-line connection project is generating unanswered questions about additional fees. Member R.

Allen (Al) Murphy recommended Wendy contact Water Resources Committee Chair Les Fox for current information on the water project. Chair Mary Pavlik said she will place a Well-Being Committee presentation to the Select Board on a future agenda. The committee set its next meeting for September 14 at 10 a.m. via Zoom, skipping August, and approved the prior minutes unanimously.
